Vintage Royal Artillery mess jacket with rank of Captain
Made by Moss Bros, Covent Garden – label dates item to 60s latest. . Black wool jacket, deep lapels, epaulettes with decorative crown and gunner gold tone domed buttons and Captain’s rank double insignia buttons, Deep cuffs, 8 decorative buttons to front, peaked front hem, soft ‘wave’ back. Red ‘satin’ quilted lining, red interfacing and insert to lapels. Sleeved also lined in cream ‘satin’. Inside slit pocket, Moss Bros label – customer name has been cut out

– red fabric has come away at lapels/front edges and is generally quite distressed
– one insignia button is missing a fixing pin

Body is in excellent condition. Measures as 38” chest. Please note, this listing has not been laundered.
